The Italian Peer Review of the Set The Tone project was organized online on the 13th of October 2021, and was implemented by CRIS and FORMA.Azione.
In Italy, the peer review had the intention of involving employees and managers of SMEs and specifically social enterprises, who will be key actors in various steps of the project.
During the peer review several themes were highlighted that are key to addressing gender-based violence and sexual harassment at the workplace and for the definition of the training needs of enterprises. These themes included:
- Gender-Based Violence and Workplace: What is the current situation and possible improvements?
- Engagement of employers and employees in the fight: Why enterprises should improve in making the workplace a better environment for everyone?
- Importance of Training and Awareness Raising Campaign: How to increase the knowledge of workers’ rights with reference to sexual harassment.
The meeting has been considered very interesting by the participants, who expressed their willingness to participate in the following steps of the Set the Tone project. The participants underlined that it is more a matter of feeling good in order to work well, rather than a mere subject of safety at the workplace. This has a lot to do with aspects related to the themes of relationships, psychological, organizational well-being, so concentrate training on WELL WORKING therefore WELL BEING.
The objectives of the peer review are to discuss the survey results on the level of knowledge of GBV, encourage the exchange of experiences and competences among enterprises, define the training needs for changing behaviours and attitudes with reference to sexual harassment, starting from the language – lowering the tolerance threshold and the avoidance in reporting/responding and to engage those enterprises during the project implementation.
